Position: Transport Coordinator
Job Summary
Apex Cargo Solutions is seeking a highly organized and dependable Transport Coordinator to oversee daily transportation activities and ensure the efficient movement of cargo. The ideal candidate will coordinate with drivers, carriers, and logistics partners to optimize delivery schedules, monitor shipments, and ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective transportation services.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily transportation schedules.
- Assign shipments to drivers and transport partners.
- Monitor delivery progress and ensure on-time transportation.
- Communicate with customers, carriers, and internal teams regarding shipment updates.
- Optimize delivery routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain transportation records and operational documentation.
- Resolve transportation delays and operational issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for smooth cargo movement.
- Prepare transportation reports and support continuous operational improvements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or freight coordination is preferred.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Good knowledge of transportation and logistics operations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
